Belview Plant Will Contribute €400m Annually to the Economy, Says Kotinos Client Glanbia

Our client, agri giant Glanbia, opened a new state-of-the-art facility in Belview, Co. Kilkenny on Thursday, 5 March. It represents the first greenfield dairy site in Ireland since the 1970s and the biggest investment made by an Irish company since the 1920s. Glanbia has already invested €185m in the site and recently committed to spending a further €35m.

The plant, an infant milk formula factory, will provide direct and indirect employment for an estimated 1,600 people, contributing €400m to the Irish economy per annum. It will process 700m litres of milk annually, turning it into powder for global export.

The Belview site opening comes a week after Glanbia announced its fifth consecutive year of double digits earnings growth, signalling its sustained high performance.

Yesterday’s event was attended by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, and Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney.

The Belview site opening comes a week after Glanbia announced its fifth consecutive year of double digits earnings growth, signalling its sustained high performance. We congratulate our client’s continued success.
